Conservatives have always known that what Rachel Maddow is putting out there on her MSNBC show is anything but news.
While dismissing One America News's case against the host, an Obama-appointed judge agreed, declaring that Maddow's show was simply opinion -- not news.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald reports that an Obama-appointed judge ruled last month that “Maddow’s show is different than a typical news segment where anchors inform viewers about the daily news.”
Maddow does not keep her political views a secret, and therefore, audiences could expect her to use subjective language that comports with her political opinions.
Thus, Maddow’s show is different than a typical news segment where anchors inform viewers about the daily news. The point of Maddow’s show is for her to provide the news but also to offer her opinions as to that news.
The judge's dismissal came as OAN sued Maddow for referring to the network as "obsequiously pro-Trump" -- in fact, more so than any American news outlet.
Maddow went on to characterize OAN as Russian propaganda based on the existence of one Russian reporter on staff.
Judge Cynthia Bashant ruled that no one could possibly think Maddow was presenting the news because her audience knew she fell far to the left politically. Therefore, her show is laden with exaggeration and hyperbole to the extent that no one should assume what she says is true.
We guess we should assume that her Russian-obsessed accusations over the last four-and-a-half years weren't to be believed. So when she calls for the federal government to interfere with a legal audit of the 2020 election in Arizona, no one should take her seriously, either.
Is it even right to call them fake news anymore? They're literally not news, they are propaganda machines! Hopefully their rating will continue to drop and their business will no longer be sustainable.
