Even during the current border surge, immigration enforcement measures initiated during the Trump Administration have continued protecting the public.
Earlier this year, authorities apprehended two young men from Yemen listed on both the No Fly List and the FBI's Terrorism Watch List.
The Daily Wire reports one of these apprehensions occurred just after President Trump's departure. Additionally, Axios reported the names of four suspected terrorists apprehended last month matched FBI Terrorist Screening Database listings entered during the Trump Administration.
A 33-year-old and 26-year-old, both males, were apprehended in the past few months who appeared on both government watch lists. The older man was arrested during the night of January 29, during which border patrol agents “found a cellular phone sim card hidden underneath the insole of his shoe.” He was transferred into the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The second illegal alien was arrested in late March and is in “federal custody pending removal.”
“Part of the Border Patrol’s mission states we will protect the country from terrorists,” Chief Patrol Agent Gregory K. Bovino said in a press release. “Today, like every other day, our agents did that. These apprehensions at our border illustrate the importance of our mission and how we can never stop being vigilant in our everyday mission to protect this great country.”
Distressing recent reports reveal an estimated 1,000 foreign nationals now slip into the United States unpursued every single day. Reportedly, U.S. Customs and Border Protection shortages have occurred under the Biden Administration. Many trained agents currently find their time consumed assisting undocumented families.
In March, 2021 alone, an estimated 160 foreign nationals entered illegally. This figure includes approximately 18,000 unaccompanied teens and children currently warehoused in overcrowded border facilities.
Would President Trump have allowed this humanitarian crisis to develop? His vigorous enforcement of immigration laws stands in stark contrast to Biden Administration policies.
